Darkroom makes Indie Reader‘s list of best-reviewed books of 2016
Mary’s noir suspense thriller Darkroom is among the year’s top picks at Indie Reader. The reviewer describes the novel as “a highly polished atmospheric descent into a seedy world of drugs, murder and photography.”
Founded by publicist and writer Amy Edelman, Indie Reader is a book review website devoted to celebrating and promoting self-published authors whose books are outside the mainstream. “In a world where almost everything is packaged by committee, Indie Reader offers you books with a single voice: the author’s own.”

Best Thrillers names Darkroom one of the year’s top ten
Darkroom has made Best Thrillers‘ list of the best thriller books of 2016. The reviewer remarks that “In a genre full of heroines that seem entirely too clever and smug, Maddox’s Kelly is a hugely relatable breath of fresh air.” The list of ten books contains a mix of indie and mainstream titles, and Mary is honored to have Darkroom mentioned alongside amazing novels like Stephen King’s End of Watch and Blake Crouch’s Dark Matter.
Best Thrillers is a review site and book club that offers personalized editorial recommendations to readers. As the name indicates, the site is devoted to the thriller and its various sub genres.
